Overview & Highlights

Nestled on E 6th St in Tucson, Bob Dobb's Bar & Grill is a quintessential neighborhood spot where casual dining meets a laid-back, college-town ambiance. This bar & grill excels as a friendly gathering place, delivering more than just food and drinks—it offers a comfortable atmosphere where locals linger over cold beers and hearty, satisfying meals.

The menu caters to those craving classic American bar fare with a homemade twist. Starters and lighter options include fresh and generous salads: the Chef Salad, a colorful plate piled high with ham, turkey, and shredded Swiss and cheddar cheeses, and the Taco Salad, a crunchy, tangy delight featuring your choice of shredded chicken or beef, garnished with sour cream and salsa. For those in the mood for a simple, comforting bowl, the daily Soup or Chili paired with a dinner salad is an inviting choice.

Bob Dobb's burgers are no afterthought—especially The Bob, an 8 oz. cheeseburger spiked with garlic, Worcestershire, and soy sauces, delivering a flavorful, savory kick that’s anything but ordinary. For fans of classics, The Connie provides that perfect, straightforward cheeseburger experience. Sides range from hand-cut fries to homemade chips and creamy coleslaw, each serving up the perfect complement to your main.

Walking into Bob Dobb’s, you’re met with a cozy, low-key vibe—free from blaring music and pretense—making it ideal for winding down over a pint. The beer selection is solid and competitively priced; several patrons have noted the pleasure of cold, reasonably priced Guinness on tap, a rare find at $7 compared to pricier alternatives nearby. The camaraderie among patrons adds to the charm, emphasizing a welcoming, neighborhood bar feel.

Customer reviews highlight Bob Dobb's as a friendly, comfortable spot where service stands out. Megan, one of the servers, earns special mention for her attentiveness and genuine kindness, which clearly elevates the overall experience. While the food may not be gourmet, many find dishes like the wings to have just the right amount of spice and freshness to satisfy casual cravings.

In essence, Bob Dobb's Bar & Grill is not aiming to be the fanciest dining destination in Tucson but excels deeply in being a solid, friendly watering hole. Whether you’re in for a no-frills burger, a savory order of wings, or just a cold beer with friends, this spot offers a genuine atmosphere that feels both familiar and inviting. If you're seeking good company, simple yet flavorful food, and an authentic local vibe, Bob Dobb’s is worth your time on E 6th St.

Really great little spot. Solid cozy bar with a ton of atmosphere. Was nice and quiet last time I was here.

Kind server and decent wings. It was priced alright and the location is very good. But the food just wasn't really memorable. Not great, not bad, just okay. Haven't felt a need to come back.

Okay atmosphere, good service, but completely underrated food. How this place only has 4 stars is beyond me. Management, if you’re reading this, as a one-time customer, Megan blew it out of the ballpark. Her service, care, kindness, and attention to her customers is not only noteworthy but worth management’s attention. That doesn’t even mention how delicious and fresh their food was in comparisons to other dive bars in the Arizona valley. The atmosphere was a little rough for me but it may not be for most people. Multiple older people were on their cell phones with their sound full blast at the bar makes it difficult to hear the games on the TV. This kind lack of consideration is really alienating to your younger crowd, which is extremely distracting trying to watch a game while someone has their phone full blast scrolling TikTok. Outside of my issues with the environment and atmosphere, which would otherwise match my millennial tastes, this place is worth the stop for the food and service. If you’re looking for a diamond in the rough, look no further.

We came as a group just for drinks so I can’t comment on the food. The bar staff were nice and the beer was cold and great. Ambiance is “college-bar” casual and not aspirational. Great for the guys and some beers, but not where I’d take a date. VictorB

First time at Bob Dobbs I’ve been in the area several times, just thought I’d give it a try. Really enjoy these type of bars, especially before noon. No loud blaring music. In an instant I saw Guinness on tap, which was a must! At $7 a pint, well worth it. So much better than across the street at boarderlands for $9 per pint. Don’t care if it’s craft beer. Not worth $9. Started talking to a guy next to me fascinating stories. He had met Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, and a host of others. Had eaten breakfast earlier, but just had to try a couple menu items. Had the onion rings, and soup of the day, tomato bisque. The onion rings were perfectly golden brown, not over or under cooked, and a very good sized order. The soup came with toasted bread with melted cheese. The food was good. The service was excellent. Most enjoyable.

This little, and it is small, spot is different than most places in Tucson. Very friendly neighborhood vibe. Most people there know each other but they were really friendly with my friend and I. The wings were really good. Get the hot wings. I was warned that they were really spicy but they had just the right amount of heat. Unfortunately, the bacon Mac and cheese wasn't good. The beer was cold and the bartender was super friendly and personable. If I lived in the area, I would go almost every night. Check it out for a different vibe. Oh, two older guys almost fought but they ended up being cool.

If you go to Bob Dobb's looking for a gourmet meal, you'll be disappointed. HOWEVER, for what this place is it's a solid choice to hang out, chat, and have some cold beers with friends. The Reuben I got was pretty good and came out really fast. The beer was frosty and affordable. The service staff was friendly and was on top of refills and fresh pitchers when we finished one off. Did I mention the beer was really affordable? Like $12 for a pitcher during happy hour.
